The Simple "I Do" Experience

How it
works.

No giant planning process. No homework. Just the important stuff, taken care of.

01
Say hello

Tell me your plans.

Send me your date, location and a little bit about what you're planning. I'll check my availability and we can go from there.

02
Make it official

I'll guide you through
the legal bits.

Once you're booked, I'll let you know what needs to happen before the ceremony and help make sense of the marriage licence process.

03
The big bit

Say "I do."

We meet at your chosen location, say the important words, exchange rings or vows if you'd like, sign the paperwork and celebrate.

04
That's a wrap

You're married.

I'll take care of the paperwork after the ceremony, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of your day.

Just like that — you're married.
Good things to know

Frequently
asked.

A few of the questions I get asked most often. And if yours isn't here, just ask.

How long is the ceremony?
The Simple “I Do” ceremony is usually around 10–15 minutes. It covers the required legal wording with a short personalised introduction and, if you'd like, your own vows and ring exchange.
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely. You can keep things completely straightforward or include your own vows if you'd like to make the ceremony a little more personal.
Where can we get married?
Pretty much wherever works for you, provided you have permission to use the location and the ceremony meets New Zealand's legal requirements.
Do we need a marriage licence?
Yes. You'll need to apply for a New Zealand marriage licence before your ceremony. I'll guide you through what you need to do.
Can we get married on a weekend?
Yes. The Simple “I Do” is designed to be flexible, including weekend ceremonies where my availability allows.
Can our kids, pets or family be involved?
Of course. Even though this is a simple ceremony, there's no reason the people (or pets) you love can't be part of it.
Do you travel outside Hamilton?
Yes. Travel within Hamilton is included. I'm also happy to travel further afield, with additional travel costs applying depending on the location.
What's the difference between Simple and Signature?
Simple “I Do” is for couples who want a short, relaxed and straightforward legal ceremony. Signature is a fully personalised, story-led ceremony with more planning, storytelling and ceremony development.
Your story. Your way.
